Be Responsible, Earn Respect - Bring Quality To Your Life

Can we make quality a part of our life?

What standards do we have or live by? We value so much but our character and integrity should be right up there.

We look for so much in life it is so easy to overlook the small things. And the small things can make such a difference. A word here. Saying thanks. Appreciating effort on the part of others. A smile. And the list goes on.

We qualify so many things. We assess their worth to us and grade them, as best we can. So the advert went, graded grains make finer flour. So it is with the things we do. How we think. How we act. Put the extra effort in and more productive results are invariably obtained.

Excellence stands out. In sport, in work, in science, in art. We can all appreciate when something is done well. If we are thoughtful we can thank our work colleagues for their efforts on our behalf. What we tend to do is to forget number one. That is us.

We should not be put off by status. Is there such a thing anyway or is it a figment of (many) people's imagination? Respect is one thing but grovelling is another. Being subservient yet another.

Self worth is so important in life. For without it life becomes difficult and arduous, and easily devoid of joy and satisfaction and a sense of need and belonging.

We have principles do we have virtues, too. These are things we need to consider. They help make our responsibility a real thing for us. Helps make life a meaningful experience and not just the passage of time from one event to the next.

What caliber of person are we? What do we have in our arsenal? Are we friendly and approachable, helpful and supportive? Are we to be trusted? Are we accepted for who we are and what we do and what we stand for? If we say no to any of these we perhaps need to do a bit of soul searching.

Is our life what we want? Is it moving in the direction that we would like and at the pace we want? Are we just comfortable or are we lost in the troubles and strife of life? Or are we excited by each new prospect, giving of our best. Do we have quality in our life?

What traits should we push to the surface and work on, and which would we be best to leave at home? We cannot hide our past but we can try to mould our future in a pleasing and satisfying manner.

Some things we might want to spend some time thinking about and pondering over, to bring more quality to our life:

  • Do we exhibit the character and characteristics that we would like - and see and admire in other people?
  • Are we making our mark in life?
  • What comes second nature to us? What do we do without thinking?
  • Do we want to be distinct or one of the crowd, or a mixture of the two?
  • Are there aspects of our life we would improve, that would not pass the real test?

If we have values and live by them, and if we don't we should think seriously about developing some, are they real quality or half hearted?

If anything in life warrants our attention it is the person sitting in your seat right now. Give your life some focus and see where it and you can go . . .

Can we say that quality is a real part of your life, and your life is one of real standards and principles. Say yes and you know that you are really moving on with your life.
