My Ideas Improve As My Understanding Of Life Deepens
Can my ideas be any good? We all come from different backgrounds. We might think a mixture of the following: - I am not a great philosopher and am not well read.
- I am not into psychology, but I do see the ways of people and the world
- I am not a great thinker.
- I am just confused by the whole thing.
- My mind is just a mishmash of different thoughts and directions.
OK, we all have our own thoughts and ideas. They may be mainstream, they may be logical. They may be strange. They may be based on what other people have said or done, or they may be original. My ideas . . . We all have them. At times we wish they did not exist for they may be so loud that they seem to drown out all other noises or communications. What might we need do to best benefit from all of this - maintain control over what we think - do not let it get out of hand
- maintain focus and attention rather than jumping around from one thing to another all of the time
- be disciplined - at times you may need to tell it to shut up (and mean it)
- try to manage our brain activity
- thoughtfulness - do not just get lost in there, and do not be selfish either
- care about things and what you think about
- increase our understanding of life
- give a little bit of you to each enterprise - make it mean something to you
So what might you have - big and small
- this notion or that view
- this insight or perception
- an impression that you should do 'X'
- a sense that 'Y' might be productive
- a concept outside the box
- a judgment on what has occurred
- a feeling that something should be done this way
- seen a clue that leads somewhere
All of these may come in a flash or might be dawdling around for days before they gel. Be awake, be alert, be perceptive to what is happening in our brain and/or mind. If necessary write it down before you forget. Talk it over with your friends, family or colleague. But do not be easily talked out of something that seems really beneficial to you. At times you may want to go ahead yourself - and perhaps need to. Other times it may be a collective decision or task. - At these times you may need to suggest your idea then step back.
- At times, though you are certain about the course of action, others have not had the benefit of you thought processes and may need time to come round.
- And they may even think it is there idea in the end - but at least that way the 'job' will get done.
But back to basics. You can come up with new and interesting concepts. A new strategy to handle events and tasks. My ideas. Give them time to sink in. Swirl them around. Sleep on them (not literally!) If they still hang on in there - they may have real substance and you might do well to put the effort into their realization. As always, that is your call. Call wisely.
