Life Without Action Is A Life Without Fulfillment

A life without action - is that inconceivable?

Action is at the heart of decision making. After all without doing something what is ever achieved.

Thinking about something can be nice. But wallowing in something does not bring it any closer. In fact in one's minds eye it may make things worse. A form of subtle self torture.

But effort without thought goes nowhere either. They have to combine to bring home the prize.

Usually it is one step at a time. Shortcuts are possible, but the magic of cinema is just that. Graphics are not real life. So we cannot magic our way from a to b, we have to travel there. And that takes concerted effort and often work, too.

Work can be hard if we do not enjoy the context. Work for ourselves, to make our mark, to fulfill our niche, for a loved one, is not work but a process of getting something done.

An activity that we often relish and enjoy. Though the necessity may not really excite us - ironing or washing up can be great but normally just need to be done. And then move onto other activities.

The power of words . . .

I strongly feel that words have a place in our lives. As we read this 'life without action' page we can let the words gently flow over us. We can let ourselves open up

  • to the thoughts and their meanings
  • to the ideas and their origin
  • to the phrases and the understandings that they have ready for us

And too gently and slowly let them impact on our lives as we read - and in the future when we recall their meaning for us.

I hope this page has this effect. If we just remember that words can be very powerful - healing, soothing, comforting, relaxing . . .

What is a life without action
certainly one of caution
is it really the best option
to pull back your efforts or ration

The amount of effort or function
you apply, and make it a fraction
of what you have and just shun
real work, hard work, and real motion

Rather give yourself to a life with action
it will hold the seeds of success in your notion
of exerting yourself for good and remove the tension
of being in a whirlpool of uncertainty or inaction

Indeed make fact out of fiction
overcome hurdles or friction
apply yourself as the lotion
dispel any negative notion

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

In the actions you make how will you succeed
if you don't focus, work hard and proceed
to give a bit of yourself to try to exceed
your idea, your dream, do not anything concede

All best,
Martin
