Liberty Is Being Free To Be True To Ourselves

What does liberty mean to me?

Being able to do what I want. Yeah. But there must be more to life than that. That can be happiness and joy. Productivity or anarchy.

Having all the time in the world. Sounds great. But time drags. It does not drag when you are really being productive. Really being yourself.

Being famous and wealthy. Being a celebrity. Being this or that?

Is this really possible, or really desirable anyway?

Not everybody can be famous. Can be rich. Can sail round the world. Can climb a mountain. Can be chairman of a company. Can be a father or mother.

What really is liberty? Is it to be independent? To be free.

To feel liberated, is that sufficient?

Is there not more to life than that?

  • Finding self within.
  • Appreciation of life
  • Respect for self, others and the world we live in
  • Awareness of life, the spark of life within all creatures
  • Reflection on what life means to us and what we should be doing with it

In a nutshell? Becoming more. Not just being free but making something of ourselves.

Not just being independent - in thought, word or deed - but to make our mark. To live a life that only we can.

And where does freedom come in? The freedom for what? To do what?

Really the freedom that comes from intimately knowing ourselves within. Knowing and appreciating, and experiencing the spark of life within.

And giving thanks for that. And using that to find our niche in life and making our contribution.

Only we can make our contribution. And we can. That is real freedom.
