Idleness Is A State Of Mind Best To Be Avoided

What is worse than idleness in life? We can go far to find its equal.

What impact does this have on our life? A detrimental one I think we can agree. Not doing anything or wanting to do anything - where does that leave us? How debilitating is that?

Our spirit wants to soar in life and reach the heavens, but we want to continue to be the couch potato or whatever?

This sort of inactive behavior, like any, can start out after an upset or setback. And seem to give us the chance to lick our wounds before venturing forth once more.

But once we put ourselves in that idle mode, it can be hard to rev ourselves up again and kick start our life again. It can seem so easy and comfortable to just sit and watch the world go by.

Idleness can change our life. Opportunities go by. We miss out on the good life we had. Oh woe is me becomes our catchword. And not the get up and get at 'em attitude we may once have had.

Challenge seem all too much. Hurdles - they are impossible. Obstacles - I'll ignore that, it may go away.

At times you will be tested - idleness and procrastination can have this effect.

Being lethargic may be one thing but totally inactive quite another.

Does this lead to an enjoyable and satisfying life? Does this utilize our talents and help us to follow our principles and values. You bet ya - No!

A spiralling circle and cycle downwards into a pit of our own making if we are not careful. And caring for ourselves is not on our radar, is it, in these moments.

But does life have to be this way, or can we do something about it?

But this inactivity is not certain or necessary, is it? Life need not be this way.

We can snap ourselves out of this lethargy - we need not always be so lazy - and move on with our lives.

And feel relief. And feel liberation. And now see how important the 'good' life is having sampled (another) one of the sides of life's multifaceted nature.

If you are down in a pit, a wise man once said, pick up something - something for your future, some wisdom - you're down there anyways.

Learn and move on and find a brighter, more fulfilling and satisfying way of leading your life.

And have some fun . . .
