Habits Help Give Us The Stability And Foundations We Need In Life

Are my habits important? Do they affect my life, and if so is it in a good way?

Over the years we have picked up many things, some good, some indifferent, some irregular, some bizarre. Some of use are very tidy, organized, even particular. Others are lots more haphazard and disorganized. Yet we all get by.

More than get by.

Some are characteristics, some are mannerisms. Some we have to practice, others are second nature.

We are more than the sum of our habits, but they are a part of us.

The way we write. The way we talk. The way we brush our teeth or shower our bodies. The way we walk.

The way we do so many things - is just our way. We accept it for what it is - a big part of us. Our expression of life.

If planes can leave vapor trails in the sky, perhaps we can leave our own trail through life.

And our task is to harmonize with life. To be as one with life as we possibly can be. To be in sync with life.

Not to fight at every opportunity but to feel the rhythm of life and try to play along with our tune. Be in sync with our own being.

Now that is a habit worth forming.

And with the form of it we can feel at one with life and with ourselves.

Then other things can be seen in their rightful perspective.

We can see what is important and what is not. We can see what we should be doing and what is best left alone.

And in sync we can see other characteristics as beneficial in their own way. Some small, others repetitive, some addictive.

But there usefulness is plain. They are a part of us. We can set out to change them but that is not necessary, but our choice.

For we can be fine as we are. For when we know who we are and our role in life so many of life's puzzle pieces can fall into place.

And we can see the bigger picture.

And move on with our life with confidence, motivation and knowing which direction we should be headed.

And off we go.
