Foresight Is Great. Live With Open Eyes And You Maximize Your Life

What place does foresight have in my life?

How can I possibly see into the future and what good would it do anyway? No, I am not going to talk here about how you can win the lottery, or some such. No, I want to consider our lives and how we can have an impact on the direction and path our lives may take.

Let us look at a few different viewpoints or angles on the subject of foresight.

Is forethought a good thing or should I just wing it? Good question. At times both can be used. We have to be able to tell what is required in life. And experience and trial and error are our guides.

I believe in prudence, will this hold me back? This can be helpful if not taken to extreme. Not all of life is out to get us!

I treat life with circumspection. I keep myself to myself. I am happy with my lot. Sounds good. One small proviso - are you using your full potential, if not perhaps a little effort is required.

Fine but there is a big world out there . . . There is for sure, but we need not be fearful of doubting ourselves. We don't know what is happening the next moment, let alone if we go further afield. In other words, explore the world. Most things are safe and you'll be aware if they are not and should do something about them - avoiding them perhaps.

I do care for myself and try to look after myself. So how about avoiding the difficulties? But can we, or indeed, should we? Smooth orange juice may be the thing to drink, but a smooth life is another. Too smooth and there will be no challenges, nothing to instill energy or urgency in us - and don't we need that to help us along at times?

With hindsight I should have done 'X'? Perhaps you should or should not. Anyways, you now have to deal with the new situation. Make the most of what does happen, don't waste time and energy thinking about what might have been.

How can we manage any of these things? Does foresight have a place in our arsenal? Start to prepare yourself

  • by being more in tune with ourselves
  • by accepting ourselves
  • by respecting ourselves
  • by reflecting upon what we do and how we do it
  • by looking at our values
  • by living by our principles
  • by seeing that we have talents and skills and using them wisely

by having a giving nature. By wanting to contribute and not just taking is a great start and foundation for future activities.

Other questions you may want to consider (about foresight) are

  • Should I be cautious
  • What precautions should I take
  • Will I be able to anticipate everything?
  • Do I need to premeditate my life? Can I? What do you think?
  • But you can take care. You can avoid Y or Z. You can look after yourself.

You can look at your life and see if your life direction is one you are happy with. Assess, evaluate, plan, set goals, dream, visualize - then put the effort in to improve, to develop, to grow.

And you can live your dream of seeing what wonders life has in store for you. Go to it.
