Dignity Underscores The Way We Respect And Accept Ourselves And Others
Should I pay dignity much attention? Is it important to me? Two angles - other people and ourselves. We may care for the one at the exclusion of the other - with mixed results. Or we can attend to both and place this aspect of humanity in its rightful place. Otherwise how can we show we care for life or ourselves or other people? And not just talk but act. Intervene when necessary, whatever the situation, whoever is involved. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect. We are all special beings. We have our time here on earth. We can easily focus on our own affairs, our own problems, our own issues. To the exclusion of other people and situations. But how does that make people feel - or ourselves if we do not take the care, time or effort? We do need to respect ourselves and others. We do need to accept ourselves and others. We do need to listen to others and ourselves. A cry for help can take on many forms. We need to have the old antennae up and we can tune in. And in our heart we can be ready to respond. Respond to another human being. Or if we treat ourselves badly, respond to ourselves. Badly covers many a scenario. But to get the most from life we do need to participate. And to truly participate we need to be comfortable with ourselves. Happy in our own skin. How can we act in the support of others if we are not in harmony or in sync ourselves? Physician, heal thyself - has much virtue. While many an ill can be treated by others, some elements of humanity and knowing ourselves as human beings come down to number one. Only we can discover our own life. Only we can relate to our life. Only we can take the steps - they may be repeatedly prompted - only we can take the steps to discovering our spark of life within. A human being should live in dignity with integrity and self honor. Find your heart within. Find your life within. Find yourself within. Live from your inner life. Let your life 'talk' to you each day. And you will live with the character and manner that you knew you could.
