Do Not Let Despair Take Over - Meet It With Hope, Harmony, Respect For Yourself

Does despair have a place in my life?

Change plays a large part in the life of each of us but it does not always go well. It can leave us feeling uncertain and confused? And

  • we can feel it would be good to give up
  • we may lose heart if things continually seem to go against us
  • we may feel despondent and dejected
  • we may feel disheartened
  • the world, our world, can seem to be closing in on us

At times we all can feel this way.

And we have to let it happen. Time is a great healer. We have to go through things. We try to avoid them but life has this habit of presenting them again. Until we do manage to come to terms with them.

What can we do when despair hits us

  • seek assistance and help
  • find someone we can trust and confide in
  • try to change our focus
  • respect ourselves more
  • accept ourselves for who we are
  • have faith in life

Easier said than done - which is where we may need outside help.

But if we can see the good in things, see and enjoy some brighter aspects of life, then we can start the climb back to normality.

Do not lose hope. Do not believe the worst will happen because then you will go looking for it.

Focus on your successes. See that you can do things, you can achieve, you can have happy and enjoyable moments.

Believe in yourself. Do not take for granted that someone else's criticism is correct and real and needs responding to.

What is our rightful state - one of satisfaction, contentment and quiet joy OR one of desolation, disappointment and feeling lost?

I know which I would plump for and which one rings true to me.

We have the wherewithal to live our life. What we need to do is to find our own way of being comfortable with ourselves. To find harmony and strength within ourselves. And to take this forward into the things we do and the deeds we perform.

To contribute and give in equal measure to taking and receiving. To make our mark on life and to dispel despair and negativity from our life, from our being.

To find good in our life. To focus on the bright and light in our life. To see good in ourselves and accept ourselves for who we are.

To respect ourselves and others. And live the best life we can.

Eleanor Roosevelt - 'no one can make you feel inferior without your own consent'
