Deceit Will Alienate You From The World - And Harm Your Own Self
Is deceit productive or counter productive? It may be your way to get round rather than go through, to take the short cut rather than the long way round. To at times flatter to deceive. Is this really in your makeup? Is this the way you wish to live your life? Is this the way you would like to be seen by others? And how about the view you have of yourself. Is it cloudy and confused or clear and easy? Is it uncertain or does clarity shine through? Do we want to - be accused of cheating and not playing fair in life?
- be seen as a deception artist rather than for the person we really are (or could be)?
- be seen as hypocritical when telling the truth and meaning what we say is not that difficult?
- be seen as cunning and devious rather than open and friendly?
- be a pretend person - all an act with no real substance?
- not be trusted and avoided as we seem treacherous and willing to stab people in the back?
- be plainly dishonest rather than a person others trust and befriend?
- be known for our guile and self centeredness rather than humility and caring?
- be seen and avoided for our trickery and duplicity - trying to make the most of each situation for ourselves at the expense of others?
And there can be more interpretations - misrepresentation
- duplicity
- subterfuge
- double-dealing
- imposture
- slyness
- deceitfulness
- underhandedness
Is this the sort of person we want to be seen as in life? And end up lonely and alone. With few interests and even fewer friends. And those people we do associate with are just those who have not seen this 'dark' side of our character - as yet. Your choice.
