What is crucial about responsibility? Should we give it the time of day or not?

I think that we all know that we have responsibilities. Some big ones, others small. And we should take them seriously, for if we do not where would life be?

If no one took responsibility for anything in their lives chaos would ensue. What would get done?

• No decisions would be made - oh, we'll do that tomorrow.
• No one would act when they should
• No one would consider the priorities of the situation
• No one would assess the consequences of each situation
• No one would think that perhaps we should do things a different way

and the list could go on.

The results of not taking responsibility for our lives. Lacking the following crucial acts

• Important and key jobs would fail to be done. Faults would come to light in short order. Blame would be placed for failed actions and ventures.
• The urgent would become the slow moving and maybe. The important would become the I'll get round to that eventually.
• The essential would fall off the radar. And with the breakdown of processes and actions, left, right and center.
• Maintenance would be forgotten.
• Critical processes could fall by the wayside

Life could lose its sparkle and energy, the excitement and interest. And be a far less wondrous experience.

But all is not lost. We can make our contribution. We can play our part:

• Giving of your best
• Realizing there are consequences
• Taking charge
• Not working out of obligation
• Duty would be seen as essential - but not in a harsh authoritarian way
• Liabilities would be met

And with this would come

• reliability
• dependability
• rationality
• trustworthiness
• conscientiousness
• consciousness
• awareness

Productivity and satisfaction would rule. Contentment would be rife. Awareness widespread. Acceptance manifested.
