Be Consistent In Managing Change In Your Life

Being consistent is a challenge in life.

Yet it offers such rewards, not only in our interactions with others but in life and the way we feel about ourselves.

If you are dependable you will be different, but in a positive and productive way.

Tackle change with a perceptive and understanding, but also steady and regular, manner and you will be astonished by what you can achieve.

Can we learn from the past for there is much there for us to ponder on?

Can we learn from each other or will we always go it alone?

Do we have the foundations in our life to be able to be able to tackle things in life in a prepared and efficient manner? Or are we confused and uncertain about our position in life and what we are doing - which will only make challenges seem to be even greater than they already are.

What do we bring to life?

  • a healthy self esteem
  • a sense of self worth that is good and positive
  • a positive mental attitude
  • discipline and control

and

  • a caring attitude
  • a thoughtful nature
  • wanting to do the best thing
  • acting from good and solid principles
  • wanting to give of our best

At times all we can do is to try our best. We may be found wanting at times but, if we do not lose ourselves in self recrimination, we can learn from these experiences.

But challenges are not always met and at times we can question and wonder. We can have passing thoughts of inadequacy but we should focus our attention on the positive and productive aspects of things.

And respect ourselves for being the person we are.

But if questions linger . . .

We think about what is really happening in our life. What direction our life is going in.

At times like these words can be very powerful - healing, soothing, comforting, relaxing . . .

The power of words . . .

Ready for us to assimilate and take on board and let ourselves be uplifted and filled with their meaning for us.

I hope this consistent page will do this and more. I hope this example will help to express life in an insightful, penetrating but easy to read manner. And help us to question the lives we lead and the manner in which we live them.

With change we should be consistent
or at least that should be our intent
for where would we be if our actions
were all over the place, which merely heightens

The lack of planning in our approach
to life and change and this would encroach
on our effectiveness in the things that we do
where would the stability be between me and you

And so neither of us would know where we stand
we could not tell the difference between left or the right hand
and therefore would be uncertain in our chosen direction
we would not be constant and be in fear of contradiction

Which would not help in the relations between us
which would not be the basis of interaction nor success
and you might feel that I was being somewhat erratic
and if I did not improve you could be my critic

Because you want your interactions to be steady
even and regular, stable and ready
to be a part of our 21st century path
through life, we want peace and not feel wrath

At the uncertainty of how things might turn out
you want compatibility and not a roundabout,
turn or direction change in the middle of things
you'd like to know where we stand as human beings

Because we are beings and not just doings
you want to feel at home and not experience down swings
and incongruence and discord during your day
you want coherence and harmony if I'm to stay

A big part of your life and in the things that we do
you want trust and loyalty and no IOU
to support and assist the place where we work
together and in cooperation no time to shirk

From our duties and loyalties nor our way ahead
you want to have a good idea what I'll being doing instead
of having to guess what I might do today
which might be different from what I promised yesterday

But we must be aware of our unpredictable nature
which in no way should diminish our undoubted stature
or our trustworthiness in the changes we make
in our life, our joint activities in which you have a stake

To be consistent in thought, action and deed
is at times a tall order but a standard indeed
that I strive for both for myself and with you
to help govern the things that we do

Together or apart it should make no difference
I want to be dependable as I live by my conscience
and give of my best to be most consistent
a vow for the future, but definitely in the present.

All best,
Martin
