There Will Be Consequences, Appreciate This And Be Ready For Them
How can we live without consideration for the consequences of each action we take? Or are we unaware that what we do has an impact elsewhere in life? Everything we do has a result. It may be the desired outcome or not. It may achieve what we want or it may not. Whatever the result there are repercussions. Some foreseen, others unexpected. Each time we use the air waves to communicate we are sending out not only words but thoughts and ideas, energy and vibes. We develop an atmosphere around us and this emanates into the ethers. Unseen but not unfelt. Likewise when others interact with us. Every outcome starts another ball rolling. Some are small and insignificant, others unseen and unfelt, others decisive and unyielding. Every issue we get involved with sends ripples out into the world. How we are at that time - positive or negative, bright and breezy or tired and dispirited, enthusiastic or lifeless - will impact on how these ripples are met and seen, felt and dealt with.
Each event is the prelude to the next. Some demanding, others we can skip. But we have to decide our activity. The end of one action warrants the start of another and so life goes on. And how can we achieve the desired effect and more - A small gesture here or an appreciation there can be so meaningful.
- Showing an interest in somebody else
- Being concerned for another human being
- Taking a moment and giving someone some help or assistance
- Listening and meaning it by focusing on the other person, not just trying to think of the next thing to say.
- Valuing friendship. Accepting, appreciating other people - close or not
- Taking account of other people's feelings
- Not caring about status and getting stuck in and helping and assisting
- Knowing and showing what is significant and what is less important and can be ignored - at this time
- Standing by other people when the time is right and the need is felt
Life can be rosy amidst the pressures, stresses and strains of everyday life. Yet we should not become paranoid. What we can do is to try to do our best. Be ourselves as much as we can. Let our inner being move us to act and let our inner energy drive us. Then it will be the real us that is participating and not a cardboard cutout or facsimile of what we really are. Being aware that what we do will have consequences, and we need to be ready to cope with them. We will be more aware of the ripples that we cause but be more in tune with life, in sync with ourselves. These will be waves that naturally happen and not uncontrolled human created destructive storms. Relax and be yourself. Give and contribute, be aware of consequences, and you will make a real difference in the world and in the lives of the people you know and meet.
