Consciousness Is Our Portal To Understanding And Appreciation Of Life
What is consciousness? How aware are we of the life we have? We are living, breathing beings. Capable of so much. Creative and destructive. Productive and time wasters. Giving and contributing, as well as taking and demanding. Honest and distrusting. Thoughtful and selfish. Considerate and self centered. Humble and arrogant. So many polar opposites. But what are we? Are we just biped animals or conscious beings capable of nurturing and developing? What do we really understand about our life? Do we take it for granted - the fact that it comes visit each and every day of our existence?
Do we accumulate knowledge and understanding via our different experiences or are they just further entries in our diary in life? Is life just something to get through or to explore and develop? Do we recognize the great gift we have in our hands? Or is it slowly filtering through? Or do we just take this all as a big game that we are playing - but not really knowing whether we are winning or losing? Do we feel enlightened? Is our spark of life, bright and beautiful or dull and grey? Is self awareness high on our priority list or just something that people talk about in books? What are our values and sensibilities? Do we evaluate what we do and how we act or are we on auto pilot most of the time? Happy to get through another day unscathed? Do we realize and appreciate the gift we have? We comprehend so much but what about life itself and its place in our thoughts and actions? With life comes responsibility for how we are and what we do. For how we think and what we let pass our lips. For what contribution we make or how we just end up taking all the time, but not achieving too much. If we can ensure that we give ourselves the time and effort (that we freely give in every other direction) to explore our own world, our own life. This will be time well spent. If we can increase our awareness, our consciousness of life we will find that we can get so much more out of life, and with little extra (real) effort. Life will become a lighter and brighter affair. We will have a lightness of touch about us. Less easily will we fall prey to hurdles and obstacles, diversion and interruptions. We will feel more at home with ourselves. Comfortable. Content. Satisfied. Yet wanting more in a good and wholesome way. And we will find that life is a rich, precious and wonderful experience. Each day will be filled with adventure and surprise. Sure disappointment and problems will still exist. But it is how you view them and life that makes that important difference. Recognize your own consciousness and see life in a new light.
