Accomplish More By Bridging The Gap Between Where You Are And Where You Are Going
What can I accomplish? Does this come down to what I set out to achieve? What limits I set myself? What barriers I put in place? What I can think I can be successful at? Or do I set out with an open mind each time? Knowing that I have achieved some impressive things in the past - and who can say otherwise, we are all in the same boat here - and can do so again. What might I do to try to stop myself? - Never start - procrastination halts many (a likely to be successful) enterprise
- thinking we don't have the skills
- I do not have the time how can I do that?
- I always meet a hurdle and do not know how to proceed
- I am embarrassed by my earlier efforts
- why am I asked to do things I do not like doing?
- I perform better on my own
- I perform better in a team
- I like to lead not follow
- I like to follow not lead
- I never seem to be able to take that last step
- How does one conclude
- Why should I do this anyway
- I am so tired I cannot summon the energy
- What is in it for me?
- How will this help me in life?
- Can I pull this off?
And so on. And often what it does boil down to is to get enthused by something. Really want to do something. Then be willing to pay the price to acquire it. Be it time, effort, learning new skills, contributing more, giving a bit of yourself. What you have to do is bridge the gap between you and what you want to achieve. Then do what is necessary. Go for it!
